Arpita Karkarey is an educationist and founder director at Walnut School and The Wise Buddha project. Over the last decade, in various capacities she has created educational content, set academic systems, understood parent requirements and made sure things fall into place at Millennium National School, a school which she founded along with her father, Dr. Sudheer Phatak.
Arpita is widely known in and around Pune for her radical and authoritative views on school education. She has spoken on multiple platforms on a variety of topics ranging from e-learning, teacher training, CCE, the approach to subjects, school management, planning to even communication. She is considered to be an authority for her deep understanding of educational systems run in other countries, and has been covered on various media platforms.
She holds a B.E in Computer Science and a M.S in Multimedia Technology from Pittsburgh, USA. She was an Assistant. Professor of Multimedia at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, before returning back to India. She also holds a Bachelors and Masters in Education and is enthusiastic about effective education systems and spreading education. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D in education from the University of Pune, focusing on teaching through the local language, something she is very passionate about. Arpita’s attention to detail, z-axis thinking, innate planning skills, sound concepts, ability to connect very well with people, and above all, her love for school education, make her the apt leader of The Wise Buddha project.
